Although shoots are thought out, there is a natural spontaneity to the imagery, inspired by the way humans interact with one another. Ron captures a special, uncontrived magic by using a carefully orchestrated connection between intuition and a trained, technical eye. Some of his best celebrations are when he finds surprises between official shots.
“When I’m shooting, there are no boundaries between myself, my camera and my subject.” On a fundamental level, Ron believes his success is also the result of having meshed the environment of his adopted home of Los Angeles with his European esthetic.
Ron has a degree from the London College of Printing with an emphasis on documentary photography and has used this approach along with studio fashion experience to arrive at his balanced perspective, equally at ease photographing Hollywood celebrities, iconic athletes or real people. American Photography selected one such image, “Swimmer,” for its AP29 Annual, among other accolades he has received for his work.
When not working on assignment with clients
such as Speedo, Mastercard, Sprint and GQ, or “giving back” with extensive pro bono work, Ron enjoys time off with his wife and eleven year-old twins, whose patience and boundless energy, respectively, never cease to amaze him.
